What is a Private Social Network?
Social privacy is an important feature of any social network. But you may want more than the usual controls provided by other Social Network Website. How Does It Work?
Users may only sign up if they have the invitation code. Each invitation code can only be used once. So your users cannot share the codes with people whom have not obtained the code from you. To mitigate a user’s account being hacked or hijacked, the system will lock the user’s account for 1 hour if the wrong password is entered 3 times.
Once a user have signed up and logged in, they can choose whom they want to allow to access their profiles. They can create Private Groups and invite or allow only users they know to join the Group. Documents shared within a private group may only be accessed and downloaded by members of the group. Photos and other medias that have been posted in a Private Group will not be posted in the public activity stream. Similarly, medias uploaded by users to their private galleries will not be posted in the public activity stream (unless they choose to). Users can choose to keep the medias private or share them with their direct friends only.
Is this 100% Secured?
We believe that no one would dare to claim that their system is 100% secured. There are many ways that information transmitted over or stored in the web could be accessed by unscrupulous people, if they try hard enough. However, having your own Private Social Network Website would be more secure than having an account in a Public Social Network Website simply because (1) you can keep your Private Social Networking Website low profile; and (2) as Network Creator, you have more control than what other Public Social Network could provide to you as a user.
Ultimately, Network Creators and Users must decide what information they are comfortable in sharing and posting, knowing well that no system is truly 100% secured.
